The product works exclusively at physical level. It ignores file system and can be used with FAT, NTFS or any other file system, and also with unformatted or unpartitioned disks. During regeneration, the disk structure will not be changed and the existing data will not be affected.

As the product does not change the logical structure of a hard disk drive, the file system may contain marked earlier bad sector labels, even if the hard disk is already regenerated and not damaged by bad sectors. If you want to remove these marks, repartition the hard disk drive

Installing and uninstalling
In order to install HDD Regenerator, execute the installation file. The Installation Wizard will take you through the installation steps. When the installation has completed, press Finish button to close the Wizard.

If you need to remove HDD Regenerator from your computer, use the Programs and Features applet (Add/Remove Programs) from Windows Control Panel.

How to start HDD Regenerator
In order to start the product, double-click the HDD Regenerator icon on your desktop or select the HDD Regenerator icon from the Start menu. If you use the unregistered version, you can regenerate only one recoverable bad sector. The main purpose of the unregistered demo version is displaying a report that contains information about the possibility to regenerate your disk by means of the registered full version. The registered version carefully scans the hard disk drive surface and regenerates all found recoverable bad sectors.

To begin the regenerating process start the HDD Regenerator Console Application. You can start the Console Application directly from Windows** (the "Regeneration | Start Process under Windows" menu) or create a bootable regenerating flash (the "Regeneration | Create Bootable Flash" menu) or create a bootable regenerating CD/DVD (the "Regeneration | Create Bootable CD/DVD" menu). After the flash or CD is created, boot your computer from this flash/CD and the Console Application will start automatically under DOS.

Working with HDD Regenerator Console Application
To start the Console Application, use "Regeneration | Start Process under Windows" menu, or boot from the Bootable Regenerating Flash (the "Regeneration | Create Bootable Flash" menu) or boot from the Bootable Regenerating CD/DVD (the"Regeneration | Create Bootable CD/DVD" menu)

After you start the Console Application
1. Choose the drive to regenerate
2. Choose mode ("Scan and Repair" or "Scan Only")
3. Enter the "Starting Sector" parameter. Leave this parameter equal to 0 if you want to scan the entire disk. Enter the sector value if you want to scan the disk not from the beginning. For example, you don't want to scan the first 5 GB of your hard drive to save time, because you know that this part of the surface does not contain bad sectors. In this case enter the offset equal to 5000 with 'm' following or 10240000 without 'm' following (number of sectors 5000*1024*1024/512=10240000)
4. Wait while the scanning is completed.

NOTE: If you have started the Console Application under Windows and the Console does not respond to keyboard input, make sure that it has focus (click on the console window or use ALT-TAB keys combination to switch between windows)

*HDD Regenerator can repair physical bad sectors caused by magnetic errors on a hard drive surface. If the hard drive has a physical breakage (damaged heads, circuit board, etc.), then it will not be repaired by the product.

**Unfortunately, the repair mode directly under Windows will not be effective, if you have only one hard drive on your system. The reason is that the repair mode requires exclusive access to a hard drive (except Windows XP). For obvious reasons, the exclusive access cannot be obtained to the hard drive on which Windows OS is installed. This is related to repair mode only. Scan mode does not require exclusive access to a drive. To obtain exclusive access to any hard drive on any system, please use the Bootable Regenerating Flash or CD/DVD option.

User Interface and System Environment

All commands were created with a focus on ease of use. You can start by creating a 3D model and then use it to automatically create drawings files, or you can draw only in 2D. Designing in 3D is generally more "natural," in that it closely represents actual parts and assemblies. The 3D approach is usually more intuitive than 2D drafting. Models created in 3D are easily converted into conventional 2D documentation.

3D Modeling
VariCAD provides a library of basic 3D solids (prism, cylinder, cone, etc.), which are easily modified by editing the original profile or parameters. Solids can also easily be created by profile rotation, extrusion, or lofting. More complex tools include rotation blending between two profiles, lofting between a circle and rectangle, and creation of helical surfaces.

Solids can be added or subtracted, thus forming Boolean trees representing real mechanical parts. Boolean operations have options for automatic trimming, or automatic removal of subtracted volumes. Predefined operations like hole drilling, face milling, groove milling and edge beveling/filleting are also available. Boolean trees are very easy to edit.

3D Tools - Assemblies, Groups, Parts etc.
VariCAD also provides tools for assembly support. If the link between a part and assembly is defined, any changes made to the part file are reflected in the assembly file and vice-versa. Linked copies can also be defined. In this case, editing of one object causes all its linked copies to be updated. Solid groups can be defined as well, making selection and visibility changes simple for multiple objects.

Crash Tests (Interferences)
One excellent feature of 3D modeling is component interference checking. VariCAD can check 3D assemblies for possible collisions (overlapping volume) between components.

Calculations
VariCAD can calculate 2D section area, surface area, volume, mass, center of gravity, and moment of gyration. A library of mechanical calculations is also included, for standard parts used every day by mechanical designers. These mechanical parts include tension and compression springs, pre-stressed bolted connections, pins and parallel keys, grooved shafts, bearings, beams under combined stress (bending and torsion), spur and bevel gearing geometry, and belt drives.

Surface Development (Sheet Metal Unbending)
VariCAD can also create developed (flattened) surfaces of 3D solids. The XY coordinates of the developed surfaces can be saved to a text file for further processing. You can input bending coefficients in order to customize your calculations.

Mechanical Part and Symbol Libraries
VariCAD contains libraries of standard mechanical parts (ANSI, DIN), such as bolts, nuts, pins, plugs, cotters, gaskets, bearings, rolled and drawn shapes, and hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic symbols.

Non-graphical information can also be assigned to parts, such as type of material or supplier. This information is incorporated into an assembly and can be used for material requisitions, bills of materials (BOM), title blocks, or other purposes.

3D - 2D Export
3D models are easily converted into 2D drawings to produce conventional drafting documentation. You can create 2D views of one or more selected solids by defining the views in 3D. In addition, you can also export specified sections. VariCAD supports updates of a 2D drawing after changes in 3D.

2D Drawing and Editing
Drawing functions are geared toward easy use in engineering. Some handy features of 2D drawing include: an intelligent cursor that automatically detects objects and snap points, numerous snap modes, auxiliary construction lines, ortho mode, rectangular grid, drawing layers (up to 250), block creation, hatching with automatic border detection, advanced dimensioning, surface texture symbols, welding symbols, tolerance symbols, and more. Dimensions can be in millimeters or inches.

BOM and Title Blocks
VariCAD provides tools for maintaining drawing databases, which represent the data structure of the product. There are constraints between data in part and assembly drawing title blocks and the assembly database. You can build a bill of material (BOM) from the database, then easily modify the database using commands like mass attribute changes, sorting of information, etc.

The data structure of the product (BOM) can be exported into other systems or into a spreadsheet. Automatic BOM and title block creation is another one of VariCAD's useful tools. Multiple files or datsets can also be repeatedly imported into an existing workbook window containing custom analysis settings and a Summary Report sheet.

Batch Peak Analysis (Pro)
This feature allows OriginPro users to perfom peak fitting of one dataset, save their custom settings as a Theme file, and then perform batch peak analysis of multiple selected datasets in the project using the custom theme. A summary report sheet will be created that lists the dataset name and results from the peak analysis such as peak integration results, or multiple peak properties, depending on the Peak Analyzer goal saved in the theme.

Slide Show of Graphs
You can now view all graphs in your project, or in a particular subfolder, in a full-screen slide show. The slide show can be customized to play in a loop or end when last graph is displayed. Custom key entries can be used during the slide show including options to turn off speed mode if present, or go to the currently displayed graph window. The order of the slides can be set using a newly introduced slide order column in Project Explorer.

This feature combined with the Favorites Folder feature allows for user to easily collect together all desired graphs in a project for viewing or for presenting to colleagues.

Favorites Folder and Project Explorer Shortcuts
Shortcuts to any Origin Window type such as graph, worksheet, or matrix can be added to any folder in Project Explorer. A Favorites folder has also been introduced, allowing user to right click on any window to quickly add shortcut to Favorites folder. This allows for easy organization of key windows and graphs in your Origin Project, and can then be combined with the Slide Show feature to create custom presentations.

Export Graphs to PowerPoint
In addition to viewing graphs as a slide show, you can also export all graphs in the project or in any particular subfolder to a Microsoft PowerPoint file. The order of export can be set using same control used for setting slide show order. Controls are provided for specifying vertical and horizontal offsets and size in units of percentage of page size, for inserting the graph into the PowerPoint slides.

Password Protection and Audit Log
Origin Projects can be protected in version 8.1 using a password. User can also turn on an Audit Log which maintains a log of who saved the Project and at what time. The Audit Log can optionally be protected by a separate password, allowing for a manager to turn on the audit log and check the listing to view activity on the project.

The new features of Password Protection and Audit Log time stamps, combined with Origin's ability to import data from databases using customizable SQL queries saved within the Project, allows for electronic record keeping. These features are important for submitting Origin Projects to Government Agencies that have specific security guidelines such as to the US-FDA which requires 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.

New Graph Types
To complement the existing array of over 60 supported graph types, the following new ones are being introduced in Origin 8.1:

Ternary Contour Plot. This plot utilizes a fourth column of Z values to determine the contours for XYZ ternary data. Customization options include smoothing, and the newly introduced major and minor level contour controls and enhanced support for color palettes.

Weibull Probability Plot. The Weibull probability plot displays percentiles in order to determine if the data could be from a Weibull distribution. Data that are truly Weibull will plot as a straight line on the graph. Origin plots the reference line automatically, based on the Weibull parameters, which you may specify or let Origin estimate from the data.

Windrose Plot. The Windrose plot combines elements of a 2D polar graph with a bar chart, and is very useful for displaying directional data. It is most often used to display variations in wind speed and direction.

New Templates. New graph templates have been added to easily plot multiple datasets in same graph with shared X axis and multiple color-coded Y axes with offsets.

Contour Plot Customization
Enhancements have been made to customization options for contour plots. Users can now set major and minor levels for contours, and optionally only display contour lines at major levels. This allows for a contour plot with smooth color variations, but at the same time not too many contour lines, thus reducing clutter.

Improvements have been made to applying color palettes to contour plots. Once a palette has been assigned, it can be remembered so that changes to the source data will result in reapplication of the same palette. Data (X-Y) corresponding to any or all contour lines can now be extracted to a worksheet.

Data Rearrangement
Data consisting of multiple mixed groups can now be unstacked to separate sets of columns by using one or more columns as group variables. Once grouped data is unstacked, graphing and analysis can be performed with more flexibility.

Data Reduction
Multiple new tools have been introduced for data reduction. These include a tool for deleting rows by skipping, such as deleting every alternate row, and a tool for reducing data with duplicate X values.

The duplicate reduction tool allows for specifying what quantity to use for replacing Y values, such as mean, min, median or sum.

Data Reduction (Pro)
OriginPro provides additional tools for data reduction. These include a tool to reduce data to evenly spaced X values, and a tool to reduce data based on subgroup statistics of X values. Both tools provide multiple methods for deciding how to distribute the reduced data. The tools also provide a preview window of the results.

Signal Decimation (Pro)
This tool provides you with the ability to reduce data by a specified factor, with an optional filter specification. The filter options include moving average or finite impulse response.

Rise and Fall Time Analysis (Pro)
This tool can be utilized to measure rise and fall time of signals. An interactive panel can be used to specify the range of interest on the graph.

Signal Envelopes (Pro)
This tool computes envelope of a signal. Options are provided for computing either upper or lower envelope, or both. A smoothing option is also provided allowing user to specify number of points to be used for smoothing.

Surface Area (Pro)
Surface area can be computed using this tool with data organized in a matrix or in XYZ format in a worksheet.

Custom Menus
The Custom Menu Organizer tool can be used to customize existing menu items by turning selected items off, or to add your own additional main menu items for tailoring the software to meet the specific needs of your end user. Multiple menu configuration files can be created and saved, and shared with other users. Sharing such menu configuration files is supported with the group folder. This feature can be utilized in organizations to provide a custom, consistent interface for all users, or to customize the interface for including the software with instrumentation.

LabTalk Function Support
Support for user-defined functions with multiple parameters has been added to Origin's LabTalk scripting language . Functions can be easily defined and used in script such as from the function plotting interface.

1. Mount image in virtual drive or extract using WinRAR.
2. Create a folder to run the stick GrubUtil.exe (for Windows Vista or Windows 7 as administrator)
3. Select the menu Disk, which select the USB flash drive.
4. Click Install.
5. Then copy the contents of the image in the root of the stick.

INSTALLING

To install Windows Tiny7 from this CD, set your PC
up so it will boot from the CD-ROM in the PC's BIOS.

There is no upgrade option available in Tiny7, because the option
is removed.

Only install Tiny7 onto a freshly formatted partition or hard disk.

You do not need any product key in this release - the installation
of Tiny7 is unattended, apart from in the very beginning where you
choose which drive or partition to install to.

All installations are set to US English. If you do not want the US
keyboard settings, you will have to change this in Windows when it
has installed (as opposed to choosing it at install time), its easy
enough, just open the "Keyboard Settings" folder in the desktop
eXPerience folder and read the included ReadMe.txt that is there.

Special note from eXPerience:

I have used this modded OS for a few days and it seems every bit as fast
as Windows XP. If you have always wanted to use Vista, but were holding
out for Windows 7 - its worth it! This slimmed edition boots up fast,
shuts down fast, opens applications fast, even VMware v5.5 runs fast
on it once its started up. File copying seems no slower than XP. All
in all this new Windows really blows away XP because of all the new
features. You have to remember XP is from 2001 when no one even had
such a thing as "Wireless" or a SATA drive. Now all this new hardware
runs on Windows XP but the OS was never designed to run it really.
You might wonder why not just use Vista - don't even go there. Lets
just pretend Vista never existed. In fact Microsoft should have not
ever released it but I guess they had to in order to improve on it
and eventually get it right - with Windows 7.

For example, you could highlight just the 2000-3000Hz area of one word of a vocal performance to bring out the articulation of that word.

You can also use the DSE mode to interpolate selected frequency ranges or the entire spectrum using our new Frequency Domain Interpolation algorithm. This interpolation technique allows you to do much longer replacement than previously possible.

Big Click Filter (NEW)

The Big Click filter automatically detects and repairs clicks lasting much longer than the standard click algorithm. Clicks lasting 100's of milliseconds can now be effectively found and repaired automatically. The big click filter uses our new spectral interpolation algorithm for a dramatically better repair than you ever thought possible.

Overtone Synthesizer (NEW)

The Overtone Synthesizer Filter generates an octave higher harmonics to add life to "dull" or limited bandwidth recordings. This effect is different and complementary to our VVA harmonic enhancer. See below for an example of what it can do:

Sub Harmonic Synthesizer (NEW)

The Sub Harmonic Synthesizer adds bass or sub-bass an octave below the exiting low frequencies. You can use it to add impact to almost any recording or to re-construct a lower octave that may have been missing in a restored original.

As you increase the power and amount of filtering on a tough file, in the past, you could generate new noise called artifacting. This machine-like ghosting was quite annoying and we'll be very happy to see it showing up much less in our restorations. Artifact suppression mode helps you push the Continuous Noise Filter harder without yielding these disturbing results!

The CNF filter also features an adaptive mode, This intelligent filter adapts itself to the changing nature of the noise in your file. As it gets smarter, your noise disappears.

Skin System (NEW)

You can now change the overall appearance of DC8 to suite your mood or visual preference. We have included the ability to use the Windows Skins to change the style of the various screen elements that make up visual style. We have included a base set of styles and you can add your own.

This is where Recovery Disk come into play. It is recommended that users create a recovery disk as soon as possible and keep it in a safe location. In case your Windows 7 fails to boot, the recovery disk can help fix the problem.If youre like most PC users, you probably got Windows 7 with a new PC or laptop. And if youre like 99% of the population, you get your new machines from one of the major manufacturers. Dell, Acer, HP, Toshiba, Lenovo; who all have one thing in common: they dont give you a real Windows 7 installation disc with your purchase. Instead, they bundle what they call a recovery disc (thats if youre lucky otherwise youll have a recovery partition instead) with your machine and leave it at that. It doesnt matter that you just paid a thousand dollars for a machine that comes with a valid Windows 7 license your computer manufacturer just dont want to spend the money (or perhaps take on the responsibility) of giving you a Windows 7 installation DVD to accompany your expensive purchase.
The problem is, with Windows 7, the installation media serves more than one purpose. Its not just a way to get Windows installed, its also the only way of recovering a borked installation. The Windows 7 DVD has a complete recovery center that provides you with the option of recovering your system via automated recovery (searches for problems and attempts to fix them automatically), rolling-back to a system restore point, recovering a full PC backup, or accessing a command-line recovery console for advanced recovery purposes.
Thankfully, Microsoft seems to have realized this problem, and have thankfully made a recovery disc for this purpose. It contains the contents of the Windows 7 DVDs recovery center, as weve come to refer to it. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows 7, and just serves as a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, one could re-create this installation media with freely-downloadable media from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK kit, a multi-gigabyte download); but its damn-decent of Microsoft to make this available to Windows users who might not be capable of creating such a thing on their own. You can make your own copy from Windows 7 Ultimate Edition, but now you have an easier alternative.

Basically, Registry Healer is a tool for scanning your system's Registry for old and invalid keys. Registry Healer is particularly useful if you tend to install and uninstall a lot of programs. By putting it to work, it will help you clear out the junk that commonly fills up the Registry.
